I'm an Englishman from northern England and I'm curious to what attracts you here? I've lived here my whole life and I want to move to Florida or Australia
Assuming that you are a genuine Englishman I will satisfy your curiosity and tell you some of the things I like in the UK: - I like English Heritage and the National Trust and I love walking in the countryside - I love the Pubs, beer and fish&chips - I like football and I love LFC - I like the way Law and Justice works - I like that I can do my job in a professional environment and I am payed accordingly - I like NHS even if is not perfect - I love camping in UK - I love British Monarchy and The Queen - I like multiculturalism - I like nights-out in the Clubs - I like Lake District - I like Cheddar
Yup I sure am I'm from Newcastle and were called Geordies...our language is Norwegian we share a lot of words from Norway for example we say "Hyem" for "home".
I came to London for career progression mainly. In my line of work, as a software engineer, it's by far the best place to be in Europe. There are plenty of opportunities, a great community of professionals, excellent IT events nearly every day. As London attracts so many highly skilled people from all around the world, it creates such a vibrant professional environment with some of the most brilliant people in the industry working here. As this my third year in London, it will soon be time to move on to a new experience either in the US or Oz. But it's probably going to be Oz as I've been granted the PR two years ago so it's a lot less hassle than going to the US. Have you made any steps towards moving to Florida or Australia? I know US is not an easy one because you need to find an employer to sponsor you for the visa and it's a bigger cultural change than Australia. At least the pub culture exists down under. I'm also on britishexpats and pomsinoz, great forums if you're looking to move abroad.
What are the chicks from Romania like lol how are they different to the ones in England. Do you prefer a nice posh English accent?
Hi Douglas, I've been to Newcastle, nice city. What attracted me to the UK: career advancement (not necessarily in terms of money but in terms of more interesting stuff to do than in RO just because the market here is more sophisticated and varied) and the rule of law, which is quite strong in the UK.
What attracts you to the uk? by Douglas » Feb 24th, '13, 15:09 in EMIGRARE 9237 Hello Douglas! What attracts you to Florida or Australia? But most importantly what attracted you to "romani-online.co.uk"? (How did you find us?)
Because since theirs freedom of movement I want to go to Romania and Bulgaria and get a job and experience something different. I don't need any money because I'm already set so I don't mind doing a low paid job for a year or so. Found it just by searching but I can't understand any of it lol. What attracts me to Florida is just the lifestyle I wouldn't live there all year round just buy a holiday home and maybe spend a few weeks a year.
That's what I was about to suggest: go to Romania, there are so many places you can visit! and maybe you'll end up buying a house there instead -hipno-
I deleted a reply written in Romanian. Even if our forum can be translated, it is not polite to reply in Romanian to someone who doesn't understand the language. Eventually, I can move this topic to our English section.
Oh dear, you sound like you're translating from Romanian I came here for the South London accent, it's a huge turn-on.
You can try as much as you want, they won't write something good about Romanians. Unfortunately for the common English people, they will know what is said on TV, radio and news paper. They wont see the real us. They think about us that we live in a tent and ...so on. Just try to blend in and maybe it will pass.
Probably will be better to change the forum to English. All of it. I don't see the point in writing in our language if you want to come to UK. I mean, you need to know the language. Plus is better for practice.
The danger is that we might forget our own language. I mean who else am I gonna write in Romanian to? And what language do you think British expats in Thailand speak on their forum? I can tell you one thing mate: that language ain't Thai at all.
Nice one londoniana! @Douglas Are you by any chance Greg Christison the infamous jurnalist or you came here for a chat?
