Daca erau atat de acute domnilor, aceste probleme trebuiau puse acum un an cel putin, de vreme ce ele existau si atunci. A fost insa nevoie de venirea unui ambasador aici. De ce oare?

u avem locuri de munca!!!”. “Nu avem unde sa stam!!!”. “Ne-au incolonat ca pe vite!!!”. “Vrem sa votam pe 30 noiembrie!!!”. “A venit Jinga ala (ambasadorul Romaniei in UK) si n-a facut nimic!!!” striga glasuri de “fantome” amintind de filmele gen Poltergeist. Mai mult de prin alte colturi se aud exclamari de genul “S-au batut ca niste derbedei cu englezii pe acolo!”, “Se feresc sa zica ceva presei pentru ca au probleme cu politia!”. Dupa ce ai citit articolul “Fantomele din Canterbury” ai impresia ca cei “300” de romani nu isi duc viata intr-un oras aflat in sud estul Angliei, ci in orasul “Nimanui” dintr-o tara obscura incadrata pe coordonatele hartii pamantului.

What I intend to do through this blog is to write about current political and social topics. Some of my entries will have more relevance to the Romanian community specifically, others will be more general comment on issues of the vy. Indeed, I’d be pleased to give my opinions on subjects that readers of ROMANi ONLiNE might want to suggest. You can use the comments section for this.

ello, and welcome to the first of my occasional blog entries for ROMANi ONLiNE. I am grateful to Adrian and Nicoleta Cherciu for inviting me to write here, and I apologise to them that it has taken me a few months to make this first submission.

 

So, why have I been asked to write for a Romanian website? I hope it is because I have something useful to say, from a British perspective, about issues that affect the Romanian community here. My background is in political communications, and I trust that some of the knowledge I have gained from this might help you better understand politics in the UK.
